I know I haven't been updating, but I've been so busy with work and personal stuff. It seems like I don't have time to relax lately. So I'm trying to make time.
I'm going to try and to a short 4 panel comic every week or two. It'll help keep me in practice.
I've had the Elder Scrolls on my mind lately. I really want to get Skyrim, but I know I don't have the time to invest in it so it seems like a waste of money. I've already sunk a couple hundred hours in Oblivion and have pretty much done everything there is to do. (Including killing everybody possible in the Empirial City and stealing everything from a couple castles and trowing it all outside. When I play a game I generally play it for a long time and 100% it.) Skyrim looks nice. It actually seems to have more design. Things look dirty and Medieval-y and not... shiny and glowey. And from a video I saw, those damn forts actually look like forts in design. In Oblivion I couldn't help thinking that the forts (like Fort Derp) just seemed like elaborate dungeon-caves riddled with traps guarding some treasure rather than a rationally designed military outpost.
Generally in these games I like to play as a thief character. Sneaking around and picking off foes seems more rewarding for me than running in and bashing a bandit in the head till he falls over. But Bethesda seems to be more keen on the later approach. Sneaking around isn't really an option when you run into a random troll in the wild. I can't Lockpick my way out of a scripted battle. I can only imagine this problem is compounded in Skyrim. Unless there is someway to backstab a dragon in it's sleep, I can't see me playing as a thief on my first time through.
Anyway, Thief. Fort. Giantess. You can thank Skyrim for that.
PS: I mimicked the Grey Tones+Sketch thing from berggie's style. He's much better at it than me, so it's not technically stealing, right? Right.
PSS: I've not been feeling too imaginative lately, so any suggestions for other 4 panel comics are welcome. Scenarios or characters I will take into consideration if I like them.
